Bigger isn't allways better .. or prettier

Last week I went to an antique shop with a friend and I was showing her a vintage apron with a little dish towel attached - and I strongly  encouraged her to buy it because a little vintage apron with an attached dish towel is just oh-so cute and I really do use one! As I was showing her the apron like I was a saleswoman for them...( when I love something - I REALLY love something-  I always take it to a " THIS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE" level.) SO during my sales presentation for the 5 dollar apron... the nice elderly lady must have thought - well if she loves that little apron , she is going to go WILD for this one ... and she pulled an apron made out of a bath towel - a HUGE bath sheet , and attached a large towel on the front for wiping your hands... considering the apron would hit about mid calf I said " Wow,  I think thats' a bit overkill!"  I looked at the lady - she looked at me ...from the look on her face... I say to her , "you made it didn't you"? You KNOWWW  she said yes.  There is no pulling out of that with ... a oh- you -did - a great - job- on - that- FABULOUS -GINORMOUS- apron.
Nope .  SO I screamed with laughter - rest your hands on your knees to steady yourself laugh. Of course my friend also did the same - and the little old man that I am assuming was her husband did the same. The seamstress , she didn't laugh as hard.  We left as friends though so don't be thinking I made the apron lady cry. But , I bet she won't make many more of those aprons.
p.s. my friend did NOT buy the apron...she turns 50 tomorrow, guess what  she is getting from me... that apron is life changing!!

Have a PRETTY day!
Kristin

  12. Oh that's funny! HOW on earth could you go back to the same place for the vintage apron?! Hahah. I'll bet you were chuckling just a bit as you prepared to show your pretty face for the 2nd time. :) Pretty sure they probably remembered you too.....hahaha

Wonder why she didn't buy the vintage apron? Especially after it was Kristin endorsed! Well, I'm curious to hear what she thought of her gift.

Too bad we can't all see a photo of the um, bath sheet ensemble. Sounds like ya wouldn't be able to move in all that thar terry cloth. Hee hee. (But of course after your reaction I get that there is no photo..hahahah)
